fuck you, I'm a dragon.

Hey, it's been a while. Yeah. Hi-five for distractions. I actually feel somewhat dirty for giving up actual blogging for tumblr. As much as tumblr is amazing, it's somewhat hipster and plagued with bad grammar and high school drama. So I'm back! Not that I planned my absence, and consequently R's absence ( It's not egotistical, it's the truth. Justsayin' ), of course. And when thinking about how slack I've been I kept imagining that I had SO much to blog about. SO many things to cross off my list. Yeah, not so much.

I haven't crossed it off yet, but a friend from high school is cutting off all of her hair for charity. Which is kind of a big deal. I would go completely nuts with wigs but I can't see her doing that. Anyhoo, I plan to give her some dosh and therefore cross off 31). I'm trying to work out how much she has raised so far but machines hate me in the worst way. Ok, 120$ ish. She wants to get to 1000. It's still early though, she's not doing it until March.

I have decided that I get to cross off 66). because I went and saw Ben Jorgensen last weekend and it was beyond amazing and I could recognise all the Armor for Sleep songs before he got past the intro. Also, his solo stuff is pretty swell. The concert was odd though. He's kind of my musical God. I love and respect everything he's created and always come back to his tunes when all other music sounds like noise. There were maybe 50 people in this bar. 25 of those were paying attention. 10 of us were basically worshipping the sound produced by his vocal chords and guitar. I wanted to yell at everyone else and tell em to shutup because we were witnessing something really fucking beautiful. But I went by myself, knew no one there and felt awkward and therefore did not. And before you ask, no I did not embarrass myself by trying to form words in his presence. I didn't really know what to say to him so I went home. Coz I'm cool that way.

I kind of sort of changed my hair again :| woops. I know. I was planning to cut it all off closer to the end date and rock the pixie 'do, crossing off 73). in the process, but FUCK IT. I dyed it reddish browny purple. Also my fringe has grown out. HOLD UP, photo. Hahaha, it's actually from the night I went to the concert...

why yes, that is a ukelele on my wall XD

According to my psychologist, I'm a weirdo for not wanting a boyfriend. I mean, technically, it's on my list, number 77)., so therefore on some level I must want it. But really, I think it's like reading the bible so you can better argue with christians. If I have dated then it's perfectly reasonable for me to say I don't want it. Right? It's not as if I'm a complete hermit, though. I just don't think sticking my tongue down some guys throat counts as a relationship. Especially considering I knew less than 5 things about him. Stupid psychologists, making me think. bah.

IN OTHER NEWS. I still suck at wearing heels. Crossing off 84). will involve practice and/or cheating. I went out for K's fucking off party and wore heels and died and then swapped shoes with A. I still have A's shoes. Completely flat shoes. How frustrating. My shoes were kitten heels. I have 15cm heels dammit, and I want to rock them, rather than stumble for 10 mins and then give up.

And finally, I work with this lovely girl who happens to be moving to America to marry her bf. It's kind of odd because I consider around my 'level' as in age, maturity, wanting the same things, etc. but she's off the get fucking MARRIED. Which is nuts. NUTS I TELL YOU. Besides the point, when she leaves, she can't take all her furniture and shit so she sold me her bed. It is queen sized and beautiful and soonly mine XD and crosses off 101 for me. And the only reason I can take it is because I got a storage shed. YES. It's pretty cool but costs me about 250$ a month. So that plus the money I pay for board, I pay 450$ a month, to live at home. Can I just say, What the Actual Fuck. On that note I shall leave you a hollow promise of more blogs about books, recipes and movies.

marvellous.

Try again. I tried to copy and paste and then everything went to shit. Never mind. I HAVE EXCITING STORIES TO SHARE!!

Firstly, is the adventure I hinted at earlier about crossing something off my list. I can cross off 10). Visit a museum for a specific exhibit because I went to the Museum of Human Diseases. YEAH!! It was really quite amazing with livers the size of my chest cavity and kidneys smaller than walnuts and oesophagus's and bits of skull and blue lungs and loads of other bits of body. This was all at R's uni so we met up and had lunch and he showed me all the marvels of a real uni ( people and buildings and food courts and libraries 7 stories tall ) before getting mildly confused at an empty window and locked door that was the museum. After stopping R from using the emergency phone, some lady appeared out of no where, took our bags and then let us in. We weren't allowed to take pics :( They had some mad infrared mp3 thing that we didn't use but was cool all the same. The bay things were set out in the most odd fashion which triggered R and I's OCD something chronic. BUT THERE WERE BRAINS AND FUSED SPINES AND GANGRENOUS FEET. So much awesome. If you care to read all about this adventure from R's POV: http://myhandisonfire.blogspot.com/2010/09/adventure-ii.html. His blog is actually quite awesome, and you should most definitely read it. All of it. And then encourage him to blog more often because it entertains me when I'm bored.

And second bit of awesome news is that I have now completed two thirds of list item 73). Drastically change my hair 3 times. Technically I picked 3 times so I'd be forced to change my hair at least once a year. I forgot how much I thoroughly enjoy changing my hair. I got ditched repetitively by T, my marvellous stylist, so my hair that was meant to be a welcome to spring is now a 'oh, hey spring, didn't notice you until now' or something. Totally makes sense, this weather is barely spring anyway. So, yes, predictably I forgot to take a before shot. Again. I have a pic from mid July which is close enough, right? GOOD.

Yes. Notice the generally red-brown-ness and lack of fringe. After half a day of being upside down in the bath tub, numerous chemicals and cursing my marvellous stylist for not being confident enough, I now look like this:

YEAH. I just realised I now look about 5 yrs younger. Which is a bit of a shame. BUT IM BLONDE! I've never gone blonde before. Practically every other colour, and blonde streaks but not fully blonde. I think V's comment of "You're going to look albino!!" freaked me out the most, but I'm happy with it :) Most people who have seen it so far says it suits me. YAY.

k. That is all.

NEW SHINY STUFF!

CHECK IT: it's my new phone. It's so ridiculously amazing. So much love. This one in the pic shines funny. Mine is black. With shiny edges. But not orange shiny. Thats just odd.

The amazement doesn't stop! I'm typing this... on my new Macbook. YEAH. Best use of scholarship money EVER. I named him Jasper. I do appreciate his wireless capabilities. I can now blog from bed. This makes me happy.

So... now the mad excitement of crossing off 97). and 99). has passed, I should give a progress report. Because I'm so ridiculously lazy I haven't written anything in a rather long time.

On friday, there was a party. Which we somehow turned up early to. Lame, I know. I'm still not sure how it happened. Anyway, while waiting for people to turn up so we could actually get inside, I got in the boot of T's car. No one drove me though. And I've been in his boot before but this was the first time with it shut. Twas amusing. But no crossing off 4). yet.

I have been taking a rubix cube with me to uni, so on the train I have something to do that happens to be list related ( 37). ). It's good fun. Having 7ish people watch me is not so fun though. I'm not good enough for them to be watching. Yet. On the way home today I completed all of it, except for swapping the top in between bits that probably have a name but I can't remember it. I was pretty psyched, especially because it was a packed train; I was standing up, doing a rubix cube. How ridiculously unconventional am I?

So for 53). I have the let's-not-make-an-effort-and-see-what-happens approach. Which is surprisingly working. Craziness, I know. But I've lost 4 kg this year. WTF?? Sure, I had the not hungry thing, but I don't eat anything but crap. Processed tastes better.

Armor For Sleep are my all time favourite band. It's the one I fall back on once I'm sick of whatever it was that was amazing for a week. And I've been playing them non-stop lately because I'm sick of all my music. Lies. I am in need of good new music. That's what it is. But I have rediscovered Stars In Your Eyes. FRIKIN UHMAZING. Makes 66). super easy. I have to rename them though. I have 12 songs under one spelling of the band and 24 under the other on my ipod. Stoopid iTunes.

I know I've already drastically changed my hair once this year, and technically, with three for 73). I should save them for once a year, but I have this really strong urge to shave off a stripe above my left ear, cut the rest short and layered-like, and then dye it all dark purple. Which I don't think I could actually pull off. But that is what I am keen for at the moment.

I do believe that is all I can update at the moment. I promise not to leave it that long again. V. inconsiderate of me. Especially considering how I curse at those I follow when they themselves don't update.

fetching tea and whatnot

As promised: before and after shot...

See what I learnt from years of watching Rex on SBS - yellow writing can be seen no matter what, if you outline it in black! well I shadowed it but yeah, same idea. This is a terrible selfie. And the only plausible before shot I found was from New Year. It was less than a month ago so yay for close enough?! So yes, you can see just how much hair I got cut off. A LOT. My lovely hairdresser suggested making a pillow out of it... I have a fringe which looks ridiculous unless straightened and the green chunk is still there and actually more visible than usual, just not in this pick =S E has kindly offered to help me redo it so it can be blue how it's meant to be. YAY.

Happy Australia Day for the other day! Hope you had an epic day. I certainly did. Alone though. Mother dearest wasn't feeling great and was therefore sleeping. Papa took the opportunity to try and build things silently. Munchkin had a friend over, T was off celebrating with family in the city and all my friends had parties or events. So I took myself to the Rocks to see a bunch of free bands in the stinking hot. Yes, I'm that clever. I missed my train by maybe two seconds because M and E drove past and stopped for a chat. Which was awesome to see they were still alive after the gathering from the night before, but the 30 min wait for the next train was not so awesum. I got there, I got sunburnt, I felt amazingly lonely because everyone else seemed to have someone else, I watched a bunch of bands and a bunch of people falling over ( equally entertaining ), I got a headache, I went home only to find out T was already at home, was only 5 mins away from where I was and if I had called/texted I would have not been alone. ARGH. It wasn't until the train home that I realised I got to cross something off my list. The whole free bands thing that I kept refering to it as was actually called: Festival of the Voice. Yipee for no more 9). I now feel the need to list and explain each band I saw:

1) Lanie Lane - I sat in the shade which was miles from the stage and therefore wasn't very involved in her performance. But man, could she sing. I want to sing like her. Or anyone who can sing, really. Besides the point, she was rather excellent despite the fact I was miles away, her music wasn't anything like what I normally like and I could't sing along ( which, random fun fact, I enjoy doing at concerts because it's loud enough people can't hear you )

2) Tia Juana and her Depths of Despair - Hilarious. I couldn't take them seriously. In between each song was a sappy oh my life has been ruined by love, I shall sing about it because my therapist said so, la di dah. They did like a depressive accoustic version of 'You're The One That I Want' from Grease. I giggled. Best part was a woman walking past going 'Oh, They're very french, arn't they?' and the woman next to me going, 'French!? It's not french, it's spanish!'. I had no idea either way but all the same, LOL.

3) Dallas Frasca - Had bright red dreds and a voice like pink. But sounded country-ish. And the sun again stopped me from going up close to the stage and proper enjoying it. ARGH.

4) Super Massive - This was the first band that I got to see kinda proper because the shade had spread enough. As much as I wanted to laugh hysterically at the lead singer's attempt at dancing I was in awe of the fact that she had the balls to dance like a maniac in front of a crowd. TBH ( To Be Honest, I've been reading a blog where there are all these shortenings and I drive myself mad trying to interpret them. So there you go ) the people I was sitting next to were more entertaining than the band. There were germans and british and obviously gays and OMG ( if you don't know that one, get off the internet ) they were funny. Drinking white wine from the bottle which was still in the brown bag and just commenting on the people around.

5) King Tide - Was a reggae group with 9 people on stage and was the oddest mix. The two singers were stark contrasts - one had baggy white pants and bandana decorated with convict arrows and red paint swirled on his chest, and the other was older and in a grey tailored suit with aviators. Odd. I left early. The dancers/swayers were freaking me out. All looking at the sky or eyes closed. eh? There was one guy with a clear bauble thing and it looked like it was on a string the way he made it move. UHMAZING.

6) Paul Capsis - There was a pic in the program, and for some reason he reminded me of Marilyn Manson. And that made me think he would sound like Marilyn Manson but in a burlesque jazz style. No. Manson's voice is so goddamn sexy and this guy's voice was girly. And not at all sexy. Amusing though. The guy with the guitar was cute enough to mask my dissapointment.

So yep. I got to know the Rocks a tiny bit better. I know them pretty darn well now. And then on thursday I went with T to TAFE in the city for his competitive interview. I sat in a hallway for over 5 hours. There was some cool people there though. Besides the point, 48). is gonna be a cinch if I keep having these mini adventures.

On sometime this week ( it would help if I had some sort of memory ) NO! it was monday! YEAH! over-reaction... anyway. On monday I met up with the gang plus D, L and R minus T.Which means I have completed 51). for this time period :) Pizza and then park ( pub wasn't possible because of the youngens amongst us ). I didn't drink coz I had car but I still had alot of fun. Only problem was I felt T should have been there. Oh well. There were no blow ups so I guess I should just be thankful.

I can cross off 91).!! Just as soon as I work out if it'll let me cross it off. So far it's been all NO, html is evil!! BACK AWAY. ( read: error message. html not allowed. ) I shall work on it. I really want to cross things off!! Back to 91)., my friend GSJ has been inspired to make his own list. I havn't seen it yet. He hasn't finished it yet actually. But YAY.

muchlove.

longest post ever? i think yes.
